How to add watermarks:

Choose file

Select a document by uploading one from your computer, or a cloud storage service such as Google Drive or Dropbox. You can also drag-and-drop your file in the box to upload.

Format watermark

Insert the text you wish to use, or upload a photo to use as your watermark instead! You’ll then be able to choose the properties of your watermark, such as font, size, rotation, opacity, and position on the page. You can also select which pages your watermark will appear on.

Download or send link by email

To access your document, download it to your computer and view it in your browser. We can also email you a link to your document, which will be valid for 24 hours.

Watermarks aren’t permanent

No longer want the watermark? It is not in the style you wanted? If your watermark was added using our tool, it will be identified as such in a PDF document and can easily be removed using PDF software like Soda PDF Desktop or Soda PDF Online. If your file was converted to PDF format using another type of software, such as a word processor, watermarks may not be removable.

Image or text

A watermark isn’t just limited to text. You can use an image, such as a company or product logo, as a watermark in your document.

Odd or even pages

Use the “subset” option under Page Range to apply a watermark only to odd or even pages in your document, and let our tool do the work for you.

Watermark layers

Your PDF document is complex – it has layers. Select the “Above Page” or “Behind Page” option to specify where the watermark “layer” will be positioned in relation to the rest of the content in your document. If you place your watermark above the page, and in full opacity, it will cover text or images behind it. If you place it behind the page, other elements will be positioned on top of the watermark.
